The Disney Wish is the fifth ship in the Disney Cruise Line Fleet. She is the first ship in her class.

Size
The Wish has 15 passenger decks and can accommodate approximately 5,555 guests.
Staterooms
Once you choose a stateroom, there are categories within each stateroom type to consider. There are 4 types of staterooms:
- Inside
- Oceanview
- Verandah
- Concierge
The Oceanview staterooms are larger than an inside stateroom and they have a large porthole (or 2 smaller ones) to see out of. They will accommodate 3-4 utilizing a sleeper sofa & pull-down bed. The Dream & Fantasy do offer an additional “Family” category that will sleep 5 with a murphy bed.
The Verandah staterooms are my favorite. I think the large sliding door with the view makes your room feel much larger and you have the added space of the balcony. These rooms are larger and sleep 3-4 utilizing a sleeper sofa & pull down bed. There is a “Family” category in the verandah staterooms that will accommodate 5 utilizing a murphy bed. A family of 5 will need this stateroom or will need to look into adjoining staterooms.

Concierge staterooms are the largest. They have suites that have a separate bedroom as well. These rooms can sleep up to 5 utilizing a full sized sleeper sofa and a pull-down bed. Guests in this class will have access to concierge services, upgraded amenities, and dedicated areas on the ship for their enjoyment including a private lounge and sundeck.
This is the first ship to boast the coveted Tunnel Suite. It is located in the ships forward funnel and is possibly the most incredible room at sea. It is 4 bedrooms and 2 floors. It has an incredible view and verandah.
Dining
Cabanas is the ship’s buffet and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It has typical buffet fare that is mostly the same each day with a few things varying. They do theme the room for special nights on the ship like the Pirate Deck Party.
There are several options for lunch, dinner, or a snacks offered up on the pool deck. Mickey’s Festival of Foods is an open-air eatery made up of several different stops for so many yummy options!
- Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue
- Daisy’s Pizza Pies
- Goofy’s Grill
- Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream
- Donald’s Cantina
Sometimes the lines can be long during peak meal times however they do move very quickly.
Wheezy’s Freezies and Joyful Sweets are the perfect stop to calm that sweet tooth. Some options are an additional charge.
Disney uses a dining concept called rotational dining for dinners. This means that your table number, time, and waitstaff team will remain the same but you will go to a different restaurant each night rotating through 3 restaurants:
Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure provides a character dinner & a show. At this dining room, Anna, Elsa, Olaf & other friends sing and parade through the dining room as you celebrate Anna & Kristoff’s Engagement. Here you will be served Norwegian-Inspired dishes.
1923 is a ballroom style restaurant and would be the closest thing that you would find to a traditional Dining Room on another cruise line. This restaurant celebrates the year The Walt Disney Company was founded and the golden age of animation. Here you will indulge in the best of California inspired cuisine. You will be surrounded by relics from the earliest days of The Walt Disney Company. Around every corner and on every shelf, you can find art and props that share the history of Disney film and animation. It is not to be missed!

Since it is set in the 1920’s many guests dress to be a part of that decade. You can have so much fun with it.
Worlds of Marvel is the third dining location. Here, you will join in a celebration of some of your favorite Marvel heroes. But be ready, they may need your help saving the day from a malfunctioning invention from Pym Technology!
Palo and Enchante are adult-only specialty restaurants. They have an additional fee to dine. In my opinion, they are well worth the added expense, especially if you are celebrating something special.
Palo Steakhouse was decorated with Cogsworth from Beauty & The Beast in mind. It offers a modern steakhouse type menu in addition to delicious Italian.
In addition to Palo, the Disney Wish also offers another adult-only option – Enchante. This french inspired cuisine could possibly be one of the most romantic restaurants to dine in at sea.
Reservations are highly recommended for both!
Room Service is available and has general fare – soup/salad, burgers, hot dogs, wings, sandwiches, cookies, & more. Don’t forget to order your Mickey Head Ice Cream to finish out your day!
Pools & Water Recreation
The pools were completely changed for the Wish. The main pool deck are has 5 pools and they are stacked in a stadium style on 3 decks. The top pools are the deepest at 4.5′. The middle level of pools were each 2′ deep and the lower level had the shallower pools. On previous ships, the pools would need to be covered for deck parties. With this setup, only the bottom two pools are covered so there is still a swimming option!
On the top deck, you can also find the entrance to the Aquamouse, the first real attraction at sea. The Aquamouse is a 2-person raft ride. You ascend the hill surrounded by video screens setting the scene for your eventual plunge down the slide to the decks below. It is SO much fun and yes, you will get wet. Even though it’s an “attraction”, it is still a water side!
On deck 11 is the Toy Story Splash Zone. Here you can find some of your favorite Toy pals and non-swimmers can safely explore.

You will also find a Trixie’s Falls and Slide-a-Saurus-Rex, a great twisty slide for some of the smaller sailors.
On deck 13, you can find the peaceful adults-only pool area. As you walk towards to back of the ship, you will find lots of loungers for relaxing. At the very back is Quiet Cove – it has two small wading pools with benches, and a deeper infinity pool with a clear barrier looking out to the back of the ship.
If you head to deck 14, you will find a quiet shallow pool. It is surrounded by deck chairs and is a more secluded area of the ship. This is a great pool if you want to avoid crowds or have kiddos who don’t love the noise.
Recreation
The Hero Zone has a lot going on! It is a crazy inflatable obstacle course where families can go head to head in friendly competition. Do not forget to pack socks!
When the obstacle course is not running, this space serves as a place for basketball, soccer, shuffleboard, and many table sports like air hockey and ping pong.
There is a fitness center & spa for adults use. Spa reservations in advance are suggested.
Indoor recreation includes bingo, trivia, and crafting scheduled throughout your cruise.
Characters do meet-and-greet throughout your stay on the Wish. Keep an eye out for meeting times.
Entertainment
The Disney Cruise Line has amazing stage shows in the Walt Disney Theater. Beautiful, family friendly, live performances take place here nightly. On the Wish, “Disney’s Aladdin- A Musical Spectacular” is definitely a favorite. I highly recommend checking these shows out, they are pretty spectacular.
The Buena Vista Theater is a smaller cinema venue where movies are shown throughout the cruise.
The Pirates of the Caribbean Deck Party occurs once a cruise on select itineraries. It is a party up on the pool deck and weather permitting, they will have fireworks as well. Other deck parties take place and will be posted for you during your trip. The Bon Voyage party is one of my favorites!
Kid’s Clubs
It’s A Small World Nursery is a club for the youngest cruisers. Here, guests 3 months – 3 years are supervised and cared for by Disney staff. Because of the ages of the children, there is an hourly fee to have them here. It is a great opportunity when the grownups want to have dinner on their own or go catch one of the great shows.

Disney’s Oceaneer Club & Disney’s Oceaneer Lab are for the 3-12 year age group. In these two clubs, kids can play in one of the themed play areas (Andy’s Room & Star Wars Command Post, Pixie Hallow, and Marvel Super Hero Academy) or go enjoy one of the many opportunities of crafting, dress up or technology. There are supervised activities planned throughout the day as well. Kids get to check in to the club via a twisty slide! It is really neat.
Edge is the “Tween” Club for ages 11-14. Here, kids can hangout, play on computers, watch movies, and play video games. There are organized activities that have these children performing in talent shows, karaoke, sports challenges, special parties, and more.

Vibe is the Teen Club for ages 14-17. They have their own designated spot to hang out with friends. In this teen club, they serve beverages free of charge and smoothies for a small fee. There is a separate pool deck for this age group with their own wading pools, games, & lounge chairs. Teens in this age group also have access to their own area in the Spa.
All Kids clubs have their own dedicated space on Castaway Cay as well.
Adulting on the Wish
Like the other ships, there are several bars and clubs that feature a more adult atmosphere and require you to be 18+ at certain points during the cruise.
Like other ships, the wish offers the Keg & Compass. This is an Old World pub supposedly set back in the 1800’s. This is the Wish’s sports bar as well. You can enjoy several TV’s playing your favorite sports. They also have a curated food menu and some pretty unique draft beers.
Luna is a nightclub that often has shows that are meant for 18+. My favorite of which is always the Match Your Mate – don’t miss it!

The Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge is a Disney Wish exclusive. It is very popular so make sure you check often in often for availability, as it is a must see. Here you can try out-of-this-world cocktails, space bites, and watch some very familiar ships fly by the window.
The Bayou is a lounge in the center of the ship. It will take you right the Big Easy in Louisiana, as it is inspired by The Princess and the Frog. They have live music, themed cocktails, and southern charm!
