Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

The most Magical Halloween party you will ever attend!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special event that takes place in the Magic Kingdom in Disney World in August, September, & October. It is a ticketed event that starts once the park has closed for the day to general admission guests and runs from 7 to Midnight. There are excellent Character Greeting opportunities, great Halloween entertainment, themed food & merchandise, and shorter lines for attractions. We have visited this party several times and it is our favorite event!

Entertainment

Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular – The Sanderson Sisters stir up some trouble when they call on several Disney Villains to concoct a potion and place a spell on all of the partygoers. It is a fantastic show that you should not miss!

Mickey’s “Boo to You” Halloween Parade – As Main Street quiets, the Headless Horseman gallops up the road and starts off my favorite Disney Parade. Your favorite characters are dressed in their own Halloween costumes and several of Gracey Manor’s residents also join in the fun. It is capped off with Goofy riding by in a candy car that leaves the sweetest of smells as it passes by.

Happy Hallowishes Fireworks – An amazing fireworks display that takes place all around the park – not just above the castle. Fireworks are shot off all around the perimeter of the Magic Kingdom for a spectacular like no other! (this is rumored to be changing this year, will update!)

Monstrous Scream-O-Ween Ball – Join Mike & Sully for a fun dance party in Tomorrowland. Guests can dance with the characters to the awesome music provided by the DJ.

Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam – A dance party in Storybook Circus. Characters from favorite Disney Junior shows come out to dance with all the tiniest spooks.

Trick-or-Treating

There are several locations throughout the parks for trick or treating. They do provide small bags for you to put your candy in. You can visit each location as many times as you would like. There are other options in addition to candy such as applesauce pouches and bean chips. Allergy-friendly offerings are also available – just ask!

Costumes

Dress up like your favorite! Everyone may dress up but there are costume rules so please be sure you check those before choosing a costume.

Characters

Many characters are available to meet during the party. Several of them are characters that are not in the parks on a regular basis. The Seven Dwarves, Jack & Sally, Pooh & Tigger, and many more will meet. Some will be dressed up in their favorite costumes as well!

Yummy Eats

A limited number of eateries will be open. There is also a Dessert Party that you can purchase admission to. It is a great way to take a break and have your own reserved seat for the fireworks – plus the desserts are delish!

Special desserts and entrees are available throughout the park. These offerings are available at the party only so if something looks good, grab it!

Disney PhotoPass Magic

Take advantage of several photopass opportunities. After your photo is taken, they can add Disney Characters and other surprises. At the Halloween Party, these surprises include the Headless Horseman and ghosts from the Haunted Mansion.

Attractions

Lines will be shorter so be sure to take advantage. Majority of attractions are open for the party. Some get a bit of a make-over for the occasion –

  • Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom has an event special spell card
  • Pirate’s of the Caribbean get a few “additional pirates” that interact with guests
  • Mad Tea Party has a special lighting effect for the party
  • Space Mountain’s soundtrack is changed along with other special effects

Merchandise

Special Party Merchandise will be available at the following locations

  • Emporium
  • Curtain Call Collectibles
  • Big Top Souvenirs
  • Frontier Tracing Post
