The Happiest Place on Earth is set to reopen in phases beginning on July 17th – which also happens to be the 65th anniversary of the original park opening. If that doesn’t scream magic, I am not sure what does!
With the two parks opening on the 17th, Downtown Disney will open a bit in advance on the 9th and the Disney Grand Californian along with the Paradise Pier Hotel will follow shortly after on July 23.
The Disneyland Resort will reopen with several new policies in place to protect guests & staff. Much like the Disney properties that opened before it, capacity will be reduced, some offerings may be limited and additional health and safety measures may be put into place. More will be released as we get closer to the opening date.
Family’s look to Disneyland and Disney properties as a place of hope, magic, togetherness, and happiness. I am so happy to see them reopening – as it is a sign of moving forward and getting back to a state of normal. I cannot wait to return to the Happiest Place on Earth.
Stay tuned for more news on openings and new policies!

Traveling for the Holidays
The Disneyland Resort is a wonderful destination any time of year but they do put on a bit of Holiday Magic if you are able to attend during the Winter Holiday Months. In addition to beautiful lights and amazing holiday decor, California Adventure has a fun holiday festival, amazing treats & sweets, holiday entertainment, ride overlays, and more. Here is what you can expect when you arrive at California Adventure during the holidays-
Buena Vista Street Holiday Tree Lighting
Holiday Ride Overlays – Mater’s Jingle Jamboree & Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl are waiting for you!
Disney Viva Navidad – A beautiful Holiday celebration featuring the Three Caballeros, music, dancing, decor, and more
Disney Festival of Holidays – Very Similar to Epcot’s Holiday Festival. You will be able to enjoy culture, traditions, food, music, and more all from different countries around the world.
If you are planning on heading to Disneyland, the Holidays would be a great time to do that because of all the extra magic and excitement!
Giving a Disney Destination as a Gift for the Holidays
If you are looking for a more low-key way to gift a Disney Destination this Christmas, maybe a gift certificate is the way to go. For a spouse, a significant other, an older child, perhaps glitter and glam and cardboard Cinderella Castles are not the way to go. In this instance, the agency I work for, Magical Vacations, does offer gift cards. You can book a trip with a deposit and purchase gift cards for the balance due to give to a loved one to show that they are going on a Disney trip. We always think it is fun to put them in stockings.

Other Halloween “treats” include:
Treat Trails: New immersive trails that will contain characters, possibly even Oogie himself! At the end of the trail, guests will emerge to great big cauldrons of candy to pick from.
DescenDance – A great new interactive Dance Party! The best dancers from Isle of the Lost come to teach us some moves. Groove to all your favorite songs from the Descendants movies!
“Frightfully Fun Parade” – Mickey, Minnie, several other characters, and some of your favorite Villains will delight and cause mischief along the parade route!

A Disney World Classic is coming to Disneyland this April!
This fun and playful 3D adventure is coming to Disneyland. It is a great journey for Donald as he is asked to set up the Orchestra for Maestro Mickey. While he does so, he finds Mickey’s Sorcerer hat. He puts it on, against Mickey’s orders and things get chaotic! Follow Donald on this great adventure through several Disney classics movies and see how Mickey saves the day.
This show is played at the Sunset Showcase Theater this April. Mickey’s PhilharMagic arrives with perfect timing, as “Get Your Ears On-A Mickey & Minnie Celebration” is in full swing. Join us during this special event celebrating 90 yEARS of magic. There is new night time entertainment as well as limited time offerings of food, beverages, and merchandise. It’s a great time to come see the Disneyland Resort!
Disney World & Disneyland will celebrate Spring’s arrival with the return of the Eggstravaganza!
From April 5-21, these fun eggs will be hidden through Epcot in Walt Disney World and Disneyland, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney District. Get your map and stickers and join in the hunt! These can be purchased at select merchandise locations for $6.99.
Search for eggs designed as some of your Disney Favorites and then place the corresponding sticker on the map to show where you found it. Show your completed map to Cast Members at select locations and receive a prize!
We found this so entertaining for our littles and it allowed us some extra adult time when walking “around the world”. It may buy the adults a little extra time to enjoy the Flower & Garden Festival.
Tony Stark has created and founded the Worldwide Engineering Brigade. This new organization will be used to develop super-powered technology. Current projects include a new and enhanced super suit for Spider-Man. They are looking for new recruits and together, you can help them protect Earth. The WEB facility will allow guests more interaction with some of their favorite superheroes. The new technology offered at the facility will let guests experience what it is like to be a super hero.
Guests can join the heroes in action soon at Disney’s California Adventure at Disneyland Resort. The WEB facility will be a part of a new land that is currently being created for the park. Stay tuned for the opening date!
The 2019 Food & Wine Festival is back at Disney’s California Adventure. It kicks off today, March 1 and runs through April 23. We have already seen photos and review of a few offerings.
