Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set to open this Summer in
Disney World but not everything will open at once. The second ride, Rise of the Resistance is
set to open on December 5th – Walt’s Birthday! – in Walt Disney
World and January 17th in Disneyland.
This new and innovative ride technology will immerse guests in a way that they never have been before. It will put guests in the middle of an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order. Join Rey, General Organa at their secret base along with other Heroes of the Resistance to escape the Star Destroyer and Kylo Ren.
What we Know so Far:
There will not be Fastpasses for either of these rides
Disney is currently exploring several options to provide guests with the best experience possible
The minimum height requirement will be 40” or taller
Some VIP Private Tours may include access to this section of Hollywood Studios but they will be limited (I am happy to look into one and set it up for you)
Interested in being one of the first there? Book a trip for early December! Take advantage of lower crowds, all the
Holiday Décor around Disney World, and the many Holiday Festivals in addition
to the opening of this ride. Contact me
today for a no-obligation quote! My services are free and I can save you time,
stress, and money! See Ya Real Soon!
Last week, Disney finished unveiling the Gondalas for the Skyliner. They are SO fun! This is a huge milestone in their construction journey and we are getting so close to getting a ride in these babies!
Yep, the Haunted Mansion will probably be my favorite! It is a really nice touch to a very useful form of transportation. Just as a reminder, opening this fall, these gondolas will transport guests staying at Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, and Disney’s New Riviera Resort to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot. It will give a much needed assist to the buses and make it easier & faster to get to and from those parks. Take a peek at the fun video below!
Historically, Fall discounts have been released from mid-June to mid-July. If you are interested in traveling then, I suggest reserving now so we can just modify your reservation should a discount become available! Stay at one of the three hotels above (Four once Riviera opens in December) and take advantage of this fun new way to travel! Contact me today for a no-obligation quote and let me help you plan your dreams! My services of free of charge – Disney takes care of me so I can take care of you!
Disney’s Culinary Artists designed some pretty fantastic options. These special items are inspired by Dr. Facilier, Hades, Maleficent, Emporer Zurg, and more! These can be found at different locations throughout the park and are available for a small charge. Here are the descriptions of the scrumptiousness that can be found at this special event and where you can find them:
Dragon’s Breath Float, Storybook Treats – lemon soft-serve and sprite topped with a green cherry and cherry-flavored syrup
Intergalactic Noodles, Cool Ship – chilled noodle salad with snap peas, red onion, and sweet garlic chili sauce
De Vil’s Treat, Casey’s Corner – brownie topped with black and white icing
Headless Horseman Browkie, Liberty Square Popcorn Cart – half-chocolate chip cookie, half-brownie topped with a chocolate piece featuring the Headless Horseman
Headless Horseman Novelty Straw, Liberty Square Popcorn Cart
Hades Nachos, Tortuga Tavern – black bean nacho chips with “fiery” buffalo chicken and nacho cheese
Hades Temptation, Tortuga Tavern – purple frozen mocktail “Cosmo” with lemonade, violet monin syrup, and a gummy worm
Dr. Facilier’s Tarot Card Tart, Sleepy Hollow – chocolate tart filled with dark chocolate ganache and topped with peanut butter mousse and a white chocolate tarot card
A Drink from The Other Side, Sleepy Hollow – a non-alcoholic Hurricane-like drink themed after one of the most popular drinks in New Orleans
Not So Poison Apple Cupcake, Main Street Bakery – a spiced “apple” cupcake with pecan crunch and buttercream
Maleficent Cone, Storybook Treats – lime soft-serve topped with chocolate horns and purple sprinkles served in a black waffle cone
While they will have these treats for purchase, you do still receive unlimited popcorn, ice cream, and select beverages with your admission.
If you will be visiting Disney World this Summer, I highly suggest this event. After Hours at Magic Kingdom is a fantastic event that gives you an opportunity to see the park so empty. The photo opportunities are amazing, as are the number of attractions and characters you can see in just a few short hours. Now – add in the Villainous Takeover with all the yummy food options – it is not to be missed.
If you are not yet scheduled to visit but would be interested in doing so, please contact me and we can get your trip planned. There are still some great Summer Discounts available! Plus, all qualifying reservations qualify for our Minnie Box which is an awesome perk for our guests. A sweet gift from Magical Vacations to you!
Guests who add MaxPass to their Disneyland Reservation can take advantage of unlimited photo downloads as well as make Fastpass reservations right from their smartphone. Now in addition, guests can reserve Disneyland’s “Fantasmic” and California Adventure’s “World of Color”
The MaxPass is an excellent value for what you receive. It can maximize your time in the parks as well as allow you to see more and wait less. The memories you get to download are priceless so it is completely worth it. Now, with the addition of the Nighttime Spectacular option, I think this is a no-brainer and I will definitely take advantage of it when we travel there later this year.
I think it is important to note that reserving one of the Nighttime Spectaculars when you arrive in the parks will not stop you from making other FastPasses throughout the day. You do not have to wait for it to expire to get another. It will be separate so reserve your favorite nighttime show and see your favorite attractions all day! Happy Planning!
