Did you know that when you shop a small business, you are directly supporting someones dream? Think about the impact you can have on someones life and family. You are supporting someone’s dream to run a business that they are very passionate about. Something someone built from the ground up and put in countless hours to try to see it succeed.

In turn, you are supporting whatever causes they started their business for. A lot of Mom’s run businesses out of their homes for additional income to support their children’s dreams. It’s me. Did you know that it is free to use a travel specialist? We get paid by the company/destination you are traveling to. Our payment is built into the price of your trip already. That means even if you do not use a travel specialist, you are already paying for one! It is the exact same price as if you planned it yourself except you get all the added value of my knowledge, tips, and tricks. Plus I take on all the stress of calls & deadlines.

The other reason I am told is because people prefer to be able to handle all the details themselves. I know, I was one of those people before I first used a TS. The truth is, you can book through me and still make all the plans yourself. You have me watch for discounts, notify you of changes or closures, get through to vendors that you may have trouble with, assist in the event of a disaster (hurricane, blizzard, shut downs…etc) and provide you with tips and information that you may not have otherwise learned. You do not lose any control of your own vacation.

What you need to know!

Five immersive worlds. One amazing theme park. Step through extraordinary portals transporting you to the excitement of Universal Epic Universe theme park, opening May 22, 2025 at Universal Orlando Resort. Tickets and packages are on sale now.

Reservations are also open for the Helios Grand Hotel. Guests of Universal Helios Grand Hotel will enjoy exceptional dining, a rooftop bar with 360° views, and relaxing amenities that will make your stay extraordinary. And only guests of Universal Helios Grand Hotel enjoy a dedicated entrance to Universal Epic Universe.

Tickets will be sold in phases. To start, you will not be able to purchase a single day ticket to Epic Universe. Initial tickets will need to be purchased as part of a ticket or room package. Eventually, other ticket options will be available such as Florida Resident tickets, Express passes, and other multi-day ticket options. Universal has hinted, but not confirmed, that these options will be available before the park actually opens.

Q: Why not wait until they are available to purchase?

A: Universal is monitoring the capacity of the parks and days will sell out. If you are interested in traveling within the first month or two of park open, I highly suggest booking now. Also, on the off chance they do not come out with options prior to park open, you will already be set.

Initially, park ticket packages will only allow 1 day at Epic Universe. If you purchase 3, 4, or 5 day tickets, only one of those days will be usable for Epic Universe. The other days would need to be used at one of the other 3 amazing theme parks.

Be flexible when it comes to trip planning. Undoubtedly, dates are going to sell out. You will want to have a back up set of dates and even a back up to that to make sure you are ready to book.

There are 3 parts to this whole program- Disney Genie, Disney Genie+, and Lightning Lane

Disney Genie

Disney Genie is a new service provided by Disney that will assist you with park touring. While I as your Travel Specialist can plan your vacation for months and try to fit in all the fun, surprises, and memories that we possibly can, things do happen. Sometimes a ride will go down, sometimes you will sleep through your alarm, sometimes someone will need a nap or you will decide you really want that mid-day break that we didn’t plan for. Genie is your day-of planning service. It will help you with which rides have the shortest wait, where to get your favorite snacks, and it will also be where you will book your Lightning Lane times. This service is complimentary.

Disney Genie+

Disney Genie+ is basically this day’s virtual FastPass. It will be an add-on to your ticket and will be $15/day/guest. You will have the ability to make your first attraction selection at 7am for a time that day. When it is your return time, you enter through the Lightning Lane and should have a very minimal wait. When you have redeemed that selection or once that time window passes, you can make another selection for another attraction. This will be available for over 40 attractions throughout Walt Disney World. For those with Park Hoppers, you can make selections in other parks as well.

In addition to the shorter wait times, Disney Genie+ does offer you special photo pass lenses that will expand your options for your Memory Maker. There will also be Audio Tales available through the app that will inform you of special behind-the-scenes hints, tips, and stories during your visit.

Lightning Lane Pass

Yes, this is the actual Lane that you return to when you have Disney Genie+ but it is also the term being used for a select few attractions that will not be a part of Disney Genie+. Some of the most popular attractions will be available at an extra cost. This cost will vary based on the attraction and the day you are visiting. Anyone can purchase these Lightning Passes – you do NOT have to have Disney Genie+ in order to get one. You can purchase up to 2 attractions per day. Disney Resort Guests can make their selection at 7am. Guests staying off site can purchase when the park opens.

Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train & Space Mountain

EPCOT: Frozen Ever After & Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Hollywood Studios: Mickey’s Runaway Railway & Rise of the Resistance

Animal Kingdom: Flight of Passage and Expedition Everest

July is a great time to start looking into your holiday travel plans as well.  I can never decide which is my favorite kind of trip to help plan – One where the family is at a Disney Destination for the holidays and we plan all through the fall or when I help a guest plan a trip to gift to their loved ones on Christmas morning.   Both are exciting and so much fun. 

Last Christmas in July, I did the 12 days of Christmas with several different tips on how to “wrap” a trip to a Disney Destination and gift it on Christmas morning. I had a lot of fun with these with some of our guests and would love to assist you if it is something you would be interested in.

The Disney Wish

Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship is going to be its most Magical and Majestic yet. I am hoping I am fortunate to sail her with my family in early 2023. She is currently being built in the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. She will set sail for the first time Summer of 2022.

The Wish will be Disney’s 5th ship in its fleet and the first ship to have an actual attraction at sea! The AquaMouse will take the water-coaster to a new level!

In addition to many other innovations, this ship will have The Star Wars:Hyper Space Lounge. A perfectly themed lounge that will be open to families during the day but strictly adults in the evenings.

The Oceaneer Lab will be home to the Marvel Super Hero Academy. It will also have Rapunzel’s Art Studio and an Imagineering Lab! I have always wanted to know what it was like to be an imagineer and it is awesome that kids today will get a chance to find out.

Reopening Policies & Procedures

Disneyland is finally reopening and we couldn’t be more excited! Here is all you need to know about Disneyland and it’s phased opening.

Now Open

Downtown Disney District

Opens April 29

Disneyland Grand Californian Hotel & Spa – This will open to guests far and wide. You do not need to be a California resident to enjoy the resort or Downtown Disney District! (Villas will open May 2)

Opens April 30

Disneyland Park & Disney California Adventure Park*

*Park reservations will be required and at this time, only residents of California will be eligible for entry.

There are going to be so many protocols put into place for yours and the Cast Members safety. Some of these will change through time and others can be difficult at times to navigate which is why I HIGHLY suggest using a Travel Specialist to help plan with your trip. My services are free and will save you so much time & stress so if you are planning on visiting, let me help!

Disneyland Today

To start, Disneyland reservations and park access will look different than it ever has. Here is what you can expect when they first reopen:

Park Tickets

Tickets that were purchased prior to the closure have been adjusted. Guests should review the Know Before You Go listed on the Disneyland website prior to visiting. If you hold a 1-day ticket, you can check HERE to see when they are valid for.

You will need a Park Reservation and a ticket for that park on that day to enter. You can check the park availability calendar HERE. Reservations can be made on a rolling basis 60 days in advance of the day you want to attend.

Park Hopper Tickets

Park Hopping will be available! During your park reservation process, you will select which park you want to attend first during that specific day. At 1pm on that day, you can then utilize your park hopping ticket and hop to the next park. Guests will not be able to join the Rise Against the Resistance queue unless they are in Disneyland to start the day. Hopping from California Adventure to Disneyland will not permit you to join the Queue.

Disney Fastpass

Disney Fastpass service will not be operational when the park initially opens. Disney will use the additional queue space to allow for proper social distancing. Disney Maxpass will also be unavailable to start.

Park Feature Availability

Upon reopening, guests may visit all of their favorite attractions however character interactions will be different and limited and nighttime shows & parades will not be operational. Instead of one-on-one character greetings, guests can enjoy seeing their Disney Favorites from a distance as they cruise by in Character Cavalcades!

Disney Tech

Guests must have a Disney Account in order to make park reservations.

The Disneyland App will be invaluable to use for mobile ordering, maps & GPS, theme park hours & other important times, Dining Reservations, Mobile Check-in for reservations, joining wait times for restaurants, and more!

Enhanced Safety Precautions

  • Reduced capacity permitted entry
  • Face masks required (all guests 2 and up)
  • Social Distancing required
  • Temperature screenings

Important Reminders & Tips

  • Guests 3 and up must have a park ticket and reservation for entry
  • One guest can book all park reservations for their party but a “party” cannot exceed 10 guests or guests from more than 3 households
  • Guests will need a park reservation for EACH day they want to enter a park
  • The Disneyland App will be a must-have for your trip

Disney Cruise Line Announces Summer 2022 Itineraries

Who is ready to walk through the most friendly “ear”port in the world?! Disney Cruise Line just announced their sailings for the summer of 2022. They are returning to some old favorite as well as spreading magic to some new places.

Europe

The Disney Magic will be sailing to several different places. They will start with the Greek Isles and the Mediterranean. They will then sail to northern Europe to visit places like the Baltic, British Isles (look for Hans in those Southern ones!), Iceland, and the Norwegian Fjords. Do you think you will spot some famous Frozen Sisters?!

New ports of call:

  • Chania, Greece
  • Porto, Portugal
  • Riga, Latvia
  • Maloy, Norway
  • Nynashamn, Sweden, near Stockholm

Alaska

The Disney Wonder will return to Alaska in 2022. Guests can take in amazing views of glaciers, mountains, local wildlife, and more. These 7 night itineraries will depart from Vancouver and stop at Dawes Glacier, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan.

Caribbean

New in 2022, Disney Cruise Line will call Miami a home port. All sailings out of Miami will visit the famous and beautiful Castaway Cay.

Out of Port Canaveral, the Fantasy will sail several different Caribbean itineraries that range from 5-9 nights. All of these sailings will also stop at Castaway Cay.

The Disney Wish

The Disney Wish is still set to make its debut as the 5th ship in the Disney Cruise Fleet in the Summer of 2022. As soon as I have further details, I will be sure to share them here.

Pre & Post Cruise Disney Enchantment

If your cruise itinerary just isn’t long enough for you, why not add on some extra magic? Guests sailing out of Port Canaveral & Miami are conveniently situated right near Walt Disney World before and after their sailing. Why not add on a few extra days of excitement? I like to call this the Surf & Turf option!

Now the important part! – When to Reserve

Disney Cruise Line is not like most other lines where the closer you get to the cruise, the lower the price will go. They book every room every sailing fairly early on. That is why, the best time to purchase and the way to save the most is to book as soon as it is released. As the rooms book up, the prices may increase. Here is when you can reserve!

The World’s Most Magical Celebration

Walt Disney World Resort Celebrates 50 Years

Starting October 1st, Walt Disney World will take on a whole new shine! They will throw the world’s most magical celebration in honor of 50 wonderful years of guests, memories, & celebrations. During the celebration, each of the 4 parks at Walt Disney World will take on a new “Ear”idesence that will make some of your favorite iconic structures shimmer & shine. I am sure the castle will sparkle beautifully during the day, but I am even more excited to see it shine at night!

This new Earidesence will also be transforming Spaceship Earth, The Tree of Life, and the Hollywood Tower of Terror Hotel.

Some of our favorite characters will also get a little sparkly with new outfits for the celebration.

The celebration will run for 18 months starting on October 1. If you are interested in being one of the first to see the amazing transformation and celebration, you will want to book soon. Many others are having the same idea and now that more and more people are traveling again, the fall and early winter of 2021 are going to book up very quickly!
